Under this strand, the state of the art regarding the Advanced Manufacturing (AM) sector and its links with the Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Higher Vocational Education and Training (HVET) systems in Europe will be reviewed. Furthermore, the potential influence of emergent technologies on AM industries and the VET sector at local, regional and European level will be assessed, and methodologies will be produced to anticipate AM skills, including an update of the EU Skills Panorama.

The EXAM 4.0 hub aims at becoming a reference in skills governance in the participating regions/countries and at European level. A European platform of Vocational Education and Training (VET) in advanced manufacturing will be established, bringing together VET/HVET centres, companies, policy makers and individual lifelong learners. The platform will act as a catalyst for vocational excellence in the European regional context, with a long-term vision.

Designing, modelling and piloting
a 4.0 physical spaces
The EXAM 4.0 partnership will identify the requirements that a Vocational Education and Training (VET) centre must fulfil to be able to provide students with skills relevant for the AM Sector, focusing on emergent needs. Physical AM 4.0 LABs where to implement 4.0 processes will be designed, modelled, and validated through pilot actions at VET centres.

Project findings will be embedded into a policy paper to be distributed among relevant stakeholders and policy makers. Moreover, a framework for the AM sector skills and profiles, linked to ESCO, will be developed, and a plan proposal for the VET centre 4.0 and AM Sectoral Apprenticeship Alliance will be launched.
